Cost of Travel in Corfu
Despite Greece being part of the European Union and the Eurozone, many of its islands are rather affordable. This is partly explained by the neverending Greek economic crisis. For that reason, Greece is considerably cheaper than other European summer destinations such as Italy or parts of Spain.
Food and accommodation have relatively affordable prices in the island. During winter, many tourist oriented business are closed. During Spring and early Autumn you can find the best bargains in the island. July and August are the season peak and have the highest prices for tourists.
Traveling around the island is usually quite cheap. The daily bus card is just 4.5 euros, you can use it for numerous travels during the day.
