The Barcelona El Prat Airport has one of the highest traffic volume in Europe with almost 40 milion passengers in 2015. It has numerous connections with other European cities and also South and North America, Africa and Asia.
It has two terminals, being the Terminal 1 the newest, inaugurated in 2009. The Terminal 2 is mostly used by European low cost airlines like Ryanair and Vueling.
Getting From El Prat Airport to Barcelona Center
The El Prat Airport is actually quite far from the Barcelona city center, but the connections are varied and efficient. You can get to the city center from the airport using trains, tram and buses.
Ideally I would recommend using the metro to get from the El Prat airport to the city center. It is not only the fastest way, but also affordable and requires no connections.
